Boston City Council passes an ordinance guaranteeing health treatment for transgender municipal employees. The council votes unanimously to provide transgender municipal employees and their dependents access to gender reassignment surgery, hormone therapy, and mental health services. Mayor Marty Walsh is expected to sign the ordinance.
